Dr. Dan Schueftan is Director of the National Security Studies Center and the Director of the International Graduate Program in National Security at the University of Haifa. He previously taught at the Israel Defense ForcesNational Security College.

For over 40 years, Dr. Schueftan has served as a consultant to Israeli decision-makers and to the top echelon of Israel's foreign policy, military, and intelligence establishments, including the Chiefs of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, and the heads of the Mossad and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency). Dr. Schueftan served as an advisor to Israel's former Prime Ministers Yitzhak Rabin and Ariel Sharon, and Minister of Defense Moshe Dayan. In Washington, D.C., Dr. Schueftan was a Visiting Professor for several years at the Department of Government, Georgetown University.

Dr. Schueftan has published extensively on contemporary Middle Eastern political history. His most recent book is entitled, "Palestinians in Israel - the Arab Minority and the Jewish State."
