RJC Calls on Obama Administration to Amend AUMF

Washington, D.C. - Today the Republican Jewish Coalition joined Congressman Lee Zeldin (R-NY) in calling on the Obama administration to amend the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) that was sent to Congress. The AUMF shockingly omits naming Jews as an ethnic group specifically threatened by ISIS.

RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said:

"ISIS threatens all ethnic groups in the Middle East, including Jews. That is why it is so surprising and disturbing that the Obama administration omitted Jews as a threatened ethnic group in their AUMF proposal. Why did the administration omit Jews as a threatened ethnic group? The AUMF needs to be amended to include Jews."
