RJC Responds to Obama Administration's Failure to Fully Fund Israel's Missile Defense Request

Washington, D.C. -- Today, the Republican Jewish coalition released the following statement regarding the Obama administration’s decision opposing fully funding Israel’s missile defense request.

RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said:

“Leave it to the Obama administration to make a fraught relationship with our greatest ally even worse in the waning days of their administration. Instead of assuaging fears in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem following the deeply flawed Iran deal the Obama administration is underfunding Israel’s missile defense request by $455 million.

While this administration has freed up and awarded over $100 billion to the radical Islamic Mullahs in Iran, the Obama administration is refusing to give a minimal fraction of that to Israel in good faith for the continued defense of their borders and citizens. It’s insulting that the Obama administration continues to oppose the bi-partisan effort to fully fund the request from Israel for their defense.”
