Statement on the Trump Administration Withdrawing the US from UNESCO

Washington, D.C. (October 12, 2017) — The RJC released the following statement from Executive Director Matt Brooks:

Today it has been reported that the United States will be withdrawing from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) because of the UN group’s anti-Israel bias.

This is a move that was unthinkable during the Obama administration, but with President Trump at the helm, the world now knows that the United States will no longer be a party to organizations that direct hatred and threats towards the US, Israel, and our allies. The RJC began our campaign against the UN this past December, and today the Trump administration continues to prove that the foreign policy priorities of the RJC, and of the Jewish community as a whole, are priorities of the Administration.
