The Republican Jewish Coalition today called on Democratic House leaders to respond to anti-Semitic comments made by Rep. Ilhan Omar on Twitter yesterday.

The Republican Jewish Coalition is running a full-page ad in the New York Times tomorrow, to thank President Trump for naming Elan Carr the U.S. State Department's Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism.

The ad, which is signed by dozens of RJC leaders, reads in part:

The Republican Jewish Coalition released the following statement after President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address to the Congress:

In November 2012, Ilhan Omar tweeted out a comment about Israel’s 2012 self-defense operation against Hamas in Gaza, which had launched over 1000 rockets into Israel over the course of a few days. Omar wrote, “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.” In an interview this week with PBS’s Christiane Amanpour, Omar defended her comment.
