The person who holds an office can have a profound impact on policy. Each US President has the prerogative of nominating Cabinet members, advisors, judges, and other important officials, but some nominees have a background of radical, liberal, anti-Israel, or otherwise troubling statements or actions. In those cases, the RJC asks Senators to oppose those nominees.
