Election Day 2022 is less than 60 days away!
Republican Jewish Coalition

Notes from Norm

RJC supports promising Republican House and Senate candidates of every persuasion, but we are always thrilled when we have the opportunity to spotlight the campaigns of Jewish Republicans. There are currently two Jewish Republicans in the House, none in the Senate. Sadly, we are losing one of the two – Lee Zeldin of New York. We ardently hope that he will be elected Governor of New York in November.

The good news is that we have an excellent chance to grow the GOP Jewish delegation this year, and this week we made a major investment toward that end. On Tuesday, we announced the launch of a $750,000 independent expenditure on behalf of Lisa Scheller, the GOP nominee in Pennsylvania’s 7th District, which includes the Lehigh Valley and nearby areas. Lisa nearly defeated incumbent Democrat Rep. Susan Wild in 2020 and the district became more Republican in redistricting.

Lisa is a business leader with a track record of creating good jobs and a leader in her local Jewish community. She speaks fluent Hebrew and has been a major benefactor for philanthropic projects in Israel. We decided to make her rematch with Rep. Wild one of just a few races where we’ll be running our own ads in support of the GOP candidate because we’re committed to helping her prevail.

If Scheller is elected, she’ll join David Kustoff, who has provided Tennessee’s 8th district with outstanding representation since 2017 and Max Miller, a former Trump administration official and Marine who is a clear favorite in his first bid for office in Ohio’s 7th district.

We also have the chance to elect the first-ever Jewish Republican woman to the Senate: Leora Levy, who is challenging Senator Richard Blumenthal in Connecticut. Levy is eager to contrast her strong pro-Israel stance with Blumenthal’s record of supporting disastrous nuclear deals with Iran and to hold him accountable for supporting the Biden agenda that has done so much damage to our country.

Another exciting opportunity exists in Ventura County, Calfornia, where Matt Jacobs, a former terrorism prosecutor, is running a spirited campaign against Rep. Julia Brownley, a long-time Nancy Pelosi lackey. Election handicappers see the race as one with upset potential based in large part on the quality of our candidate.

Other Jewish Republicans are “in the arena” in races from coast to coast. Yuri Dashevsky is challenging Rep. Hakeem Jeffries in New York’s 8th district. In Indiana’s 7th district, Angela Grabovsky is aggressively challenging Rep. Andre Carson, who has one of the most appalling anti-Israel records in Congress. Max Rice is taking on Rep. Jan Schakowsky, a favorite of J Street, in Illinois’ 9th district. And Stan Caplan will face off against Rep. Sara Jacobs in California’s 51st district.

I can’t remember any previous cycle with so many talented, patriotic Jewish Republicans running for Congress. Here’s hoping there will be many victories to celebrate after November 8!

To victory,

The RJC PAC Portal

The best way to support Republican incumbents and candidates for the Senate and House is by donating to them through the RJC PAC Portal.

When you donate through RJC PAC Portal, your contribution goes directly to the campaign you select, and the campaign will recognize and acknowledge your individual donation. Because you make the donation through the RJC PAC, the campaign also knows that you’re an RJC member who cares about the RJC’s priority issues. That makes your donation a force-multiplier.

Visit PORTAL.RJCPAC.com and search by name, or filter by chamber of Congress (House/Senate), state, and/or our endorsee list. Select the Republicans you would like to support and follow the prompts to make your donation(s). RJC staff is also happy to walk you through the process if you run into any issues.
