RJC, Amb. David Friedman Endorse Dr. Oz for Senate in PA at Major Community Event

Dr. Mehmet Oz and former US ambassador to Israel David Friedman took center stage in Philadelphia last night for a tremendous pro-Israel event, hosted by the RJC.

The Jewish Insider reports:

Hoisting signs reading "Pro-Israel, Pro-Oz," "Jews for Oz," "Fetterman is the Squad" and "Oz" in Hebrew and English, several hundred guests of the Republican Jewish Coalition welcomed Pennsylvania GOP Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz at an event in Philadelphia last night.

…Oz called Israel a "force for good" that "brings light to the world," and said that a family trip to Israel had nurtured a “respect” for the country and the Israeli people’s achievements.

…Friedman, who formally endorsed Oz during the event, suggested that the candidate would have a "unique ability" to help expand the Abraham Accords. Jeff Bartos, who ran against Oz in the primary and is Jewish, said in his own remarks that he was struck by the "power that a secular Muslim United States senator could have advocating passionately for the U.S.-Israel relationship."

The Times of Israel reports:

“There’s no more important race in this country for us than right here in Pennsylvania," said RJC executive director Matt Brooks at the start of the event, insisting that keeping the seat vacated by retired Republican Sen. Pat Toomey would be essential if Republicans want to win back the Senate.

The Algemeiner notes Oz's remarks about his family:

Oz spoke of his close family history with the Jewish community. His father, an immigrant to America, grew up in a house with a dirt floor in Turkey, where he won a scholarship to medical school in 1944. Istanbul University’s medical school then was a refuge for Jewish doctors fleeing the Nazis. Oz’s father was trained by Jewish physicians, then immigrated to America and settled outside Philadelphia. It was an example, Oz said, of the "American Dream": "you work your tail off."

Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi.

RJC Joins in Demanding: No US Entry Visa for Iranian President

President Joe Biden is about to botch another issue concerning Iran. The State Department is preparing to grant entry visas to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his delegation, so that they can attend the upcoming UN General Assembly in NY, where Raisi is scheduled to speak.

The Republican Jewish Coalition joined a group of nearly 20 Jewish and other national organizations in signing a letter to President Biden, initiated by the ZOA, calling on the President to refuse entry visas to the Iranian officials. The letter says in part:

The risk of furthering Iranian assassination plots against US leaders, citizens and guests is unacceptable, and warrants denying visas to Raisi and his delegation. In addition, granting visas to Ayatollah Raisi and his entourage would endanger national security by undermining your administration’s stated commitment to prioritize human rights, and would send a message that a mass murderer may be tolerated.

Members of the US Senate have called on the administration to refuse an entry visa to Raisi, who oversaw the executions of thousands of political prisoners in 1988 as chief prosecutor of the Tehran Revolutionary Court.

Senators Tom Cotton (R-AR), Rick Scott (R-FL), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), and Ted Cruz (R-TX) wrote:

Raisi’s involvement in mass murder and the Iranian regime’s campaign to assassinate US officials on American soil make allowing Raisi and his henchmen to enter our country an inexcusable threat to national security… Allowing Raisi to travel to the United States—while his agents actively work to assassinate senior American officials on US soil—would gravely endanger our national security, given the likely presence of IRGC agents in the Iranian delegation.

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) expressed his opposition to allowing Raisi into this country. He said:

Iran is the largest state sponsor of terror in the world and its regime has attempted to assassinate US officials on American soil, overthrown foreign governments, murdered and wounded US service members, and financed terror, while declaring ‘Death to America’ and calling Israel ‘the Little Satan’ and America ‘the Great Satan’. Just days ago, we witnessed author Salman Rushdie, who Iran placed a multi-million dollar fatwa on, attacked on stage in New York. Raisi should just participate virtually until the Iranian regime decides to reverse its bad behavior.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who is one of the main targets of Iran's murderous regime, also called on the administration to halt the visas:

"We worked for four years to deny Iranian terrorists the freedom to put Americans at risk," Pompeo told the Washington Free Beacon. "This administration is allowing them to come to New York City while actively engaged in efforts to kill Americans on US soil. The Iranians just recently sponsored an attack that was almost successful in killing an American in that very city. We can do better."

Uproar after Mahmoud Abbas in Berlin accuses Israel of ’50 Holocausts’

Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas accused Israel of committing "50 Holocausts" at a joint press conference with Germany’s chancellor, Olaf Scholz, in Berlin, drawing condemnation from Germany and Israel.

Britain goes into shutdown mode

Britain will experience large-scale blackouts this winter as the electrical supply fails to meet demand. Soaring energy prices mean that similar measures may come to this country if the disastrous energy policies of the Biden administration aren't stopped.
