Harris's Israel Record Worries Jewish Dems - Will Move More Jewish Voters to the GOP
|
David Drucker writes at The Dispatch that Vice President Kamala Harris's record on Israel worries Jewish Democrats:
|
That Harris needs to reassure Jewish Democrats who value strong US support for Israel is a product of her comments regarding the war in Gaza since Hamas’s surprise October 7 invasion… Harris has been noticeably critical of the war launched by Israel’s Netanyahu-led coalition government aimed at eliminating Hamas’ leadership and dismantling the terrorist group’s war-making capabilities... The vice president called for a ceasefire well before [Joe] Biden; is expected to be quicker to chastise [Benjamin] Netanyahu; and has expressed sympathy for anti-Israel protests on college campuses, although she has rejected the flagrant antisemitism prevalent at these gatherings.
… “Until now, she has been the Biden administration’s ambassador to the progressives, trying to mute Biden’s strong support for Israel. If she’s going to have the strong support of Jewish voters and donors, she needs to change course,” said a concerned Jewish Democrat and longtime campaign contributor…
The Republican Jewish Coalition believes these and other factors are conspiring to significantly increase Trump’s support among Jewish voters on November 5—including those who consider themselves Democrats and usually support Democratic candidates. That was the group’s expectation before Sunday, when Biden dropped his reelection bid. It is especially their expectation now, with Harris. It’s why the Republican Jewish Coalition on Wednesday began airing a modestly funded television advertisement in Pennsylvania, a key swing state, using Israel as the basis for attacking the vice president.
“As Israel fights an existential war for its very survival, and as hostages languish in Gaza at the hands of Hamas terrorists—including 8 Americans—Kamala Harris is choosing to snub Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s critical address to Congress,” the group’s CEO, Matt Brooks, said in a statement. “Instead, she is going to a sorority luncheon. Yes, you read that right. What a shanda.” (Shanda, a Yiddish word, translates to “shame,” or “disgrace.”)

Israel Takes Out Terrorist Leaders
|
Israel has confirmed the deaths of three terrorist leaders recently. Hamas military leader Mohammed Deif was killed on July 13 in Khan Yunis, it has now been confirmed. Senior military commander Fuad Shukr was eliminated in a targeted strike in Lebanon. And Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran, where he was attending the inauguration of the new Iranian president.
The locations and manner of their deaths demonstrate Israel's incredible operational abilities. Deif led the planning and execution of Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel and the second in command after Yahya Sinwar. He was killed in a joint operation by the Israel Defense Forces and the Israel Security Agency on his own turf in south Gaza.
Shukr was known as Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah's "right-hand man" and was responsible for the majority of Hezbollah's most advanced weaponry, including the one that killed a dozen Druze children and teenagers on a soccer field in Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights on July 27. An Israeli precision strike near Beirut ended his murderous career.
Notably, as Seth Mandel points out at Commentary, Shukr was also behind the 1983 bombing of the US Marine barracks in Beirut that killed 241 Americans. The US has offered a $5 million bounty for him since, but it was Israel that took him out, days after he helped kill 12 Druze children in Israel.
Haniyeh, who had been living in luxury in Doha, Qatar for years, was the "diplomatic" face of Hamas. Video of him celebrating the atrocities of October 7 went viral online. He was also the chief "negotiator" for Hamas in the hostage talks. He died when a pre-planted explosive device was set off in a guest house for foreign dignitaries, guarded by the IRGC in the heart of Tehran.
Just think about the messages that these precision hits have sent to Iran and Hamas and Hezbollah. Terrorists are not safe. Jewish blood is not cheap.

Levin Accuses Biden of Withholding at Least 11 War-Fighting Systems from Israel
|
David Isaac, writing at JNS, reports that Fox News host Mark Levin has accused the Biden administration of withholding 11 war-fighting systems from Israel while it fights Hamas and Hezbollah.
|
The Biden administration is withholding 120-millimeter tank ammunition, 120-millimeter mortar ammunition, medium tactical vehicles, medium air-to-air missiles, F-15 fighter jets and engines used by F-35 fighter jets, said Levin.
The Biden administration is also withholding JDAMs, used for converting bombs into precision-guided munitions, 2,000-pound MK-84 bombs, rifles for Israel’s police force, .338 medium machine guns and guided missile systems, he said.

Kredo: Kamala's NatSec adviser probed over ties to Iranian influence network
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) launched a probe into Vice President Kamala Harris's national security adviser over his ties to an Iranian government influence network, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.
In a Wednesday letter to Harris, Cotton and Stefanik asked the presumptive Democratic nominee to provide information about her adviser Phil Gordon's "connections to Ms. Ariane Tabatabai, a senior Department of Defense official who was reportedly involved in an Iranian government operation to expand Tehran's soft power in the United States."
… Cotton and Stefanik are primarily concerned about Gordon's access to classified information and want to know if his ties to Tehran's enablers might disqualify him from holding a top-secret security clearance.

Williams: Why has the Biden administration donated close to one billion dollars in "aid" to Hamas since the October 7 massacre?
The US has donated close to a billion dollars of taxpayer money to Gaza, ruled by the officially designated terrorist group, Hamas, in the eight months following October 7, 2023… A lawsuit, brought in December 2022 and updated in March 2024, by Rep. Ronny Jackson and victims of terror attacks in Israel, alleges that President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken "knowingly and unlawfully" provided more than $1.5 billion in aid to Gaza and the West Bank since taking office. Biden and Blinken have "known for years" that the US aid is providing "material support" for Hamas' "tunnels, rockets, weapon procurement, and command and control infrastructure," among other terror structures, the lawsuit stated. The Biden administration has sought to have the case dismissed twice but failed.

Deptula: On the ground in Gaza: The reality of Israel’s military operations
Gaza presents an extraordinarily difficult adversary environment, yet the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are doing remarkable work in defending their nation while protecting Palestinian civilian lives. Their integration of effects from all domains to achieve their objectives while at the same time minimizing risk to civilians is exemplary… The IDF take measures to minimize destruction when feasible and often subject its own forces to substantial risk to mitigate civilian casualties. Indeed, the IDF refrains from attacking Hamas operatives when they brazenly interdict and steal humanitarian supplies to avoid additional killings and violence.
The military activities I saw, and the processes and procedures that are in place and followed by the Israeli military, are indicative that the IDF complies with the laws of armed conflict.
