President Donald Trump at the RJC meeting in Las Vegas last year.

RJC Postpones Annual Leadership Meeting in Las Vegas

In light of the COVID-19 epidemic, in consultation with the White House and our outside experts, we regretfully made the decision last night to postpone the RJC Annual Meeting, which was to be held this weekend in Las Vegas.

We were looking forward to welcoming President Donald Trump along with thousands of RJC activists from around the country.

In addition to President Trump, our stellar program for the event included appearances by Ambassador Nikki Haley, Governor Greg Abbott (TX), Governor Kristi Noem (SD), RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, Senators Todd Young (IN), Cory Gardner (CO), Thom Tillis (NC) and Martha McSally, House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, Congressmen David Kustoff (TN), Lee Zeldin (NY), and Billy Long (MO), Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon, and Mayor of Efrat Oded Revivi.

The RJC will look for dates in the near future when we can reschedule the event and when the current health crisis allows.

In Other News This Week...

While COVID-19 is the top story of the day, there are other stories in the news that merit your attention:

Greenblatt: For Palestinians and Israelis, This is the Deal That Can Be Done Now
The question now is whether there are forces within Palestinian society and their supporters in the international community that can overcome the rejectionism of the past to see that President Trump's vision provides a path to a realistic Palestinian state based on critical security protocols and a firm economic footing.

U.S. Outraged Over Europe’s Refusal to Extend Iran Sanctions
The European Union is resisting Trump administration efforts to foster greater international coordination on holding Tehran accountable for its rising sponsorship of terrorism and expanding ballistic missile program… A senior State Department official, speaking only on background about the developing situation, confirmed to the Free Beacon the administration is consistently pressing its European allies to stop turning a blind eye to Tehran's aggression.

Putin’s Bid to Extend Rule Is Approved by Russia’s Parliament
Russia’s parliament gave its final seal of approval to constitutional changes potentially allowing President Vladimir Putin to stay in power for years to come... The State Duma, the lower house of parliament, Wednesday approved amendments to the law that would allow Mr. Putin to serve another two six-year terms until 2036.

Biden’s Revival Means a Return to Obama’s Middle East Policies
As [Joe] Biden has consistently said throughout his presidential run, his policies will be more or less a repeat of the ones that [Barack] Obama pursued for eight years. And it is regarding the Middle East that some of the most important policy differences between the last two presidents are to be found.
