Senate Republicans Introduce Bill Boosting Defense Cooperation Between Abraham Accords Members
Adam Kredo reports at the Washington Free Beacon:
Sens. Ted Budd (R-NC) and Joni Ernst (R-IA) introduced legislation [last] Thursday that would significantly boost defense cooperation between signatories of the historic Abraham Accords agreement as the Islamic Republic lashes out at its Arab neighbors...
The Abraham Accords Defense Cooperation Act, which the two Senate Armed Services Committee members hope to include in this year's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), instructs the Pentagon to begin implementing defense and intelligence-sharing plans with the countries that have normalized relations with Israel since the treaty was first signed in 2020. Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates joined the pact with Israel in September 2020, while Morocco signed on in December of that year and Sudan followed the next month. Kazakhstan announced in November that it would become the fifth Muslim-majority country to enter the agreement.

Middle East analyst Amine Ayoub writes that this bill “marks a profound and irreversible watershed moment in the evolution of Middle Eastern geopolitics.” He continues:
This legislation is not merely another incremental update from Capitol Hill. It represents the official blueprint for a regional NATO-lite, a transcontinental security apparatus that now physically stretches from the Atlantic shores of Morocco to the windswept steppes of Central Asia.
… The Abraham Accords Defense Cooperation Act fundamentally changes the strategic calculus by moving the foundation of these alliances from the diplomatic corridors of the State Department to the operational command centers of the Department of Defense.

Politico: Trump’s Clout Faces Its First Real Test of 2026
The most significant contests of the spring, however, are in May. And none are bigger than that of Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who has become GOP public enemy number one for the Trump White House.
"Thomas Massie’s political career is over, even if he doesn’t know it yet," Chris LaCivita, Trump’s co-campaign manager in 2024, told me.
Groups directed by LaCivita and the Republican Jewish Coalition are pouring money into the Northern Kentucky district to unseat Massie, who has been the most outspoken Trump critic among congressional Republicans (it’s a small caucus).

Dayenu – A Special Gratitude
Last week, we featured an op-ed by RJC National Chairman Senator Norm Coleman and RJC CEO Matt Brooks. They expressed gratitude for the very important steps President Donald Trump has taken to stop the malign actions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies in the region. Here are some of the not-to-be-forgotten actions that all Americans can be grateful for, from the 2026 RJC Dayenu:
-
Had President Trump only restored crippling sanctions and maximum pressure on Iran to stop their malign funding of terror proxies like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis…Dayenu.
-
Had President Trump only sent seven B-2 stealth bombers to obliterate key Iranian nuclear facilities in Operation Midnight Hammer…Dayenu.
-
Had President Trump only secured the release of every last living and deceased hostage kidnapped by Hamas, the Iran-backed terrorist organization, which included 12 Americans…Dayenu.
-
Had President Trump only ended the war in Gaza that started with Hamas’s horrific, Iran-funded October 7th terror attack, which included the murder of 46 Americans…Dayenu.
-
Had President Trump only stood resolutely with the freedom-loving Iranian people, promising “the hour of freedom is at hand,” as they rose up in the largest mass protests since the Islamic Revolution…Dayenu.
-
Had President Trump only eliminated the Islamic Republic’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who directed the regime’s despicable crimes against America and our allies as the head of the world’s leading state-sponsor of terrorism…Dayenu.
-
Had President Trump only launched Operation Epic Fury with the clear objective to totally destroy Iran’s nuclear weapons program once and for all…Dayenu.

DNC Committee to Consider Resolutions Condemning AIPAC, Israel
Marc Rod reports at the Jewish Insider:
The Democratic National Committee’s resolutions committee is set to consider resolutions condemning AIPAC and Israel at its upcoming meeting next week in New Orleans — a sign of the continued and growing discord in the party over Middle East policy.
… In addition to the AIPAC resolution, another resolution highlights accusations of genocide against Israel and suggests that Israeli military units are in violation of U.S. arms sales laws, requiring a suspension or conditioning of arms transfers. A third condemns U.S. and Israeli military operations against Iran and its partners, and calls for conditions on U.S. aid to Israel.
… [Democratic strategist Joel Rubin] predicted that some Democratic activists would treat the resolution, and rejection of AIPAC, as an organizing tool and litmus test for Democratic candidates going forward, regardless of whether this particular resolution is approved.

This Passover, No More Waiting: A Call for Strength, Unity and the Unapologetic Defense of Jewish Life
In an op-ed at Fox News, Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, writes:
Antisemitism does not differentiate between communities, denominations or political perspectives. It targets Jews as Jews, and because of that, the response cannot be divided or conditional. It must be unified, direct and unapologetic. That also requires honesty about the sources of this hatred, whether it stems from extremist ideologies, movements that excuse or celebrate violence, or environments where antisemitism is tolerated and or left to go unchecked. Avoiding that conversation does not reduce the threat. It allows it to grow.
...We have also seen the impact of leadership in the efforts to bring hostages home. Last Passover, Jewish families sat at their Seder tables praying for those held in Gaza. This year, we gather with a different reality, one shaped by action, resolve and results.
With deep gratitude, we recognize the leadership of President Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner and their teams, whose relentless efforts helped secure their return and bring an end to that nightmare. That shift from uncertainty to relief will be felt at Seder tables around the world and underscores a broader point: when leadership is clear and decisive, results follow.
...This moment calls for more than reflection. It calls for action. We must raise Jewish children who are proud of who they are, not afraid to show it. We must teach our history clearly and without distortion, and we must use every available tool to confront misinformation and ensure that truth is not overshadowed.
But above all, we must be prepared to protect our communities without hesitation and without apology.
That is the message behind my writing this, because the lesson of Passover is not only that we were freed, but that we endured because we refused to abandon who we were.
