Rep. Lawler won a tough reelection battle in 2024 against former Rep. Mondaire Jones, helping the GOP hold the majority in the US House. He first ran for Congress in 2022, when he pulled off off the biggest upset of the 2022 election cycle, defeating DCCC Chairman Sean Patrick Maloney by fewer than 2,000 votes.
