Governors Hogan and Baker Featured in New RJC Ads Supporting Susan Collins

Republican Governors Praise Collins’ Independence and Effectiveness

Washington, DC  – The Republican Jewish Coalition is releasing three digital ads this week in support of Senator Susan Collins of Maine. These are in addition to the ad released last week. The RJC has increased the buy for this set of ads to $450,000 total.

RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said:

The first ad in this series for Susan Collins was targeted at women voters. Former Democratic Senator Joe Lieberman (D-CT) spoke about Collins’ commitment to issues women care about, like jobs, health care, and the environment.

The new ads target moderate swing voters in Maine. They show respected, moderate Republican governors, Larry Hogan (R-MD) and Charlie Baker (R-MA), supporting Collins’ reelection.

These ads are part of our strategy to help Republicans keep and strengthen their majority in the US Senate and are in addition to our $10 million national effort for the reelection of President Donald Trump.

In one ad, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan praises Collins for her independent thinking and thoughtful leadership. In the second ad, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker comments approvingly that Collins works with people from both parties to do what’s right for her constituents in Maine.

The third new ad shows all three - Lieberman, Hogan, and Baker - who stress that both Republicans and Democrats agree that Collins is independent, smart, effective, and committed to the people of Maine. Lieberman concludes with: “You don’t get many like Susan Collins, and when you do, you keep them.” Baker says simply: “I hope you reelect her.” And Hogan says, “I urge you to reelect Susan Collins.”
