Highlights from RJC Community Conversation in Michigan - Featuring Senator Ted Cruz & Mike Rogers

Washington, DC – This past Wednesday, the RJC hosted a Community Conversation in Birmingham, Michigan, featuring Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) & Mike Rogers, GOP Nominee for US Senate: "Who Will Keep Us Safe? Rogers vs. El-Sayed in the Wake of October 7th and the Temple Israel Attack".

With over 600 people in attendance, the event also featured RNC Chairman Joe Gruters and lifelong Jewish Democrats who eloquently described why they will NEVER vote for the most antisemitic candidate in US history, Abdul El-Sayed; and, for the first time ever, explained why they are voting for a Republican, Mike Rogers. Senator Ted Cruz discussed the real dangers of electing El-Sayed to the US Senate. Mike Rogers called out El-Sayed for campaigning with bigots like Hasan Piker, taking funding from radical Islamists, and his many disqualifying lies throughout the campaign.

“Our children deserve to grow up proudly Jewish, without fear. They deserve to walk into their classrooms and synagogues knowing their lives matter, and their safety is not negotiable. That is the promise I made to my children, and it is a promise I intend to keep. And that is why, as a lifelong Democrat and a Michigan mom, for the first time ever, I will be voting Republican for Mike Rogers.” - Taylor Weintraub, Lifelong Jewish Democrat.

“Our grandparents taught us what can happen when hatred goes unchallenged, and people remain silent. We owe it to them and our children to speak up. I will not be silent. I will not look away. And I will not put party loyalty ahead of Jewish safety.” - Lauren Slutsky, Lifelong Jewish Democrat.

Abdul El-Sayed “is beyond antisemitic - he hates Jews.... He is the only guy in the country who the Muslim Brotherhood cheered for his primary win. The ONLY one: Abdul El-Sayed. He has no business being a United States Senator.” - Mike Rogers.

“If [Abdul El-Sayed] were to win, nothing would prevent Chuck Schumer from putting El-Sayed on the Senate Intelligence Committee…There would be a serious risk that Americans would die as a result of that, because we have U.S. servicemen and women right now who are fighting Muslim Brotherhood terrorists…And given his multi-decade history of explicitly, vocally, and repeatedly supporting the Muslim Brotherhood, the risks are too high that he would share sensitive information with the Muslim Brotherhood” - Senator Ted Cruz.

“He’s lied about his resume; he’s not a physician. He’s lied about dual citizenship in Egypt, he’s lied about being a North African immigrant. He lied to the camera, to the American people, to us, that he has no relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood. But yet, we’re thinking of sending him to the United States Senate? And what committee did he tell the press he wanted to serve on? Foreign Relations.” - Mike Rogers.

“I think with antisemitism, we are facing a truly existential crisis. We are seeing a hostile takeover of the Democrat Party by self-proclaimed Communists and Islamists.” - Senator Ted Cruz.

“The whole country, and literally the whole world, is counting on you guys to turn out; and counting on you guys to help, because if El-Sayed wins, it's game over.” - RNC Chairman Joe Gruters.

Abdul El-Sayed “is funded by groups that support openly the Muslim Brotherhood. He has donations from people who openly support Hamas and Hezbollah. In the FBI, there’s 'amounting evidence', and at a certain point you go, “That’s a clue”. The only thing he hasn’t tried to flip his position on, is the fact that he supports the Muslim Brotherhood and what they believe." - Mike Rogers.

"On Hasan Piker: Abdul El-Sayed brought him to the state…And it wasn’t just “we deserve 9/11”. It’s: “the streets of America should run red with capitalist blood”, “Israel is bloodthirsty”, “Hamas is less evil than Israel”. Abdul brought him in, talking to our kids, and continues to pump out things that are just vile." - Mike Rogers.

“Van Jones also called out Abdul, saying his policies are quote, “Insane”. We should let the people of this state know: it’s not just Republicans that think this guy is a horrible human being; Democrats are coming out in droves saying he is too extreme.” - Mike Rogers
