On the Second Anniversary of the US Embassy Move to Jerusalem

Washington, DC  -- The Republican Jewish Coalition released a statement today on the second anniversary of the opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem, Israel.

RJC National Chairman Senator Norm Coleman said:

For decades, American foreign policy leaders believed that recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moving the US embassy there would have catastrophic results. Two years ago, President Donald Trump proved them all wrong.

The long-awaited fulfillment of the American promise enshrined in the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 did not result in riots, war, or terrorist attacks. On the contrary, Israel and the moderate Arab states have moved closer on efforts to bring greater peace and stability to the Middle East. Israel has been strengthened by the confident support America has shown her.

We thank President Trump for moving the embassy to Jerusalem and for all he has done to enhance the US-Israel alliance. He has proven that the United States is a strong and reliable ally and he has demonstrated the importance of American leadership in the world.
