RJC Opposes Biden Administration Resuming Aid to the Palestinians

Efforts Amount To Nothing More Than Money Laundering of US Tax Dollars For Terrorism

Washington, DC (April 7, 2021) –– The Republican Jewish Coalition spoke out today against the Biden administration decision to resume aid to the Palestinians. RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said:

President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have taken the US right back to the feckless Mideast policies of the Obama-Biden years that failed to deliver peace. The RJC strongly opposes the administration decision to deliver $235 million in aid to the Palestinians without any moves toward peace on the Palestinian side. These efforts by the Biden Administration amount to nothing more than money laundering of US tax dollars for terrorism.

The announced funding includes $150 million to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). Yet UNRWA-run schools continue to glorify jihad and incite violence against Israelis, according to a February report from a non-governmental organization that monitors UNRWA curricular materials.

Even more egregious is that the Palestinian Authority (PA) continues its outrageous “pay for slay” program, paying salaries to terrorists in Israeli prisons and to the families of deceased terrorists, to the tune of some $350 million per year.

The money that the Biden administration will pour into Palestinian aid will only free up even more millions of dollars to fund, directly or indirectly, the incitement and execution of murderous attacks against Jews in Israel. Despite the Obama-Biden pretense to the contrary, money remains fungible. Money given to UNRWA and the PA will not help the Palestinian people but only their murderous leadership.
