RJC PAC Announces Support for Randy Feenstra, Primary Opponent of Rep. Steve King (R-IA)

Washington D.C. -- The RJC PAC announced that it is endorsing and supporting Republican primary challenger Randy Feenstra in his race to defeat Rep. Steve King (IA-4). RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks released the following statement:

We have made it clear for some time that Rep. King does not represent the values of the Republican Jewish Coalition or the Republican Party. We commended the January 2019 decision by House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and the House Republican Steering Committee to remove Rep. King from his committee posts. The RJC has not endorsed him, contributed to him, or hosted events with him in many years and, in fact, the RJC has spoken out against him on many occasions.

Rep. Steve King’s record includes inflammatory rhetoric condoning white supremacists and anti-Semites. He has also met with and endorsed extremist foreign leaders. For example:

• In a New York Times interview, he asked: “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?”

• In 2018, he endorsed a fringe candidate for mayor of Toronto, Faith Goldy, a white supremacist who appeared on a podcast for the neo-Nazi web site The Daily Stormer. Goldy had a long record of anti-Semitic and racist comments.

Given King’s egregious record, the RJC PAC is taking the rare step of endorsing a primary challenger to a sitting Republican member of Congress.

The RJC PAC is proud to endorse an excellent candidate, Iowa State Senator Randy Feenstra. Randy, now in his third term in the Iowa Senate, holds a leadership position as the Assistant Majority Leader and chairs the important Ways and Means Committee. He is a staunch conservative who supports President Trump’s policies.

We look forward to seeing Randy Feenstra come to Congress to represent the citizens of Iowa’s Fourth District.
